Examination Cell

Examination is a core activity in any educational institution. The Exam Cell of Global Institute of Science & Technology is a confidential section which looks after the entire process of examinations diligently in a fair and systematic manner to meet the requirements of the WBSCT&VE&SD.

The Examination Cell of GIST has been set up for smooth functioning of Institutional and State Council Evaluation processes including, End Semester Examinations, Internal Examinations, Practical/Sessional Examinations, and Assignments/Dissertation evaluations.

The Primary objective of the Examination cell is to:-
(a) Keep all the communications with affiliating State Council and submit necessary documents required by the Council authority.
(b) Submit Internal Evaluation marks, i.e. Continuous Evaluation (CE) to the affiliating State Council.
(c) Notify Internal Theory & Practical/Sessional Examinations schedules in discussion with the Departmental HODs.
(d) Conduct the End Term Exam, and any Special Exam as notified by the affiliating State Council.
(e) Collect and distribute the results and mark sheets to the Department or to the students.
(f) Forward the students’ examination related application to the State Council for Consideration.

Students admitted to various courses can avail the following facilities from Examination Department:-
(a) Collect mark sheets from Examination section after the declaration of results and receiving of the mark sheets from State Council.
(b) Write an Application such as correction of mark sheets, re evaluation of Answer Scripts to the council, forwarded through the Principal for necessary action.
(c) Guardians of students can also keep in touch with the Examination Cell for the Progress of his/her ward/s in different Examinations Conducted by the Institute or Affiliating State Council.

Students Admitted to different Programmes are informed to go through the Examination Rules and Regulations, Promotion Rules in order to make them understandable all the matters regarding Examinations.

Lab Internal Semester examination and internal marks thereof, Practical record books, each experiment assessment, final marks based on assessment of all the experiments, and other assessments, if any Measuring Course Outcomes attained through board examinations.

Measuring CO attainment through Internal Assessments. Target may be stated in terms of percentage of students getting more than class average marks or set by the program in each of the associated COs in the assessment instruments (midterm tests, assignments, mini projects, reports and presentations etc. as mapped with the COs).
